What Does the New Age Mean?      Home

"He shall honour the God of forces: a god whom his fathers knew not"... he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws Dan:7:25;11:38

The very term "New Age" can be misleading to the uninformed. The only newness it possesses is the capacity that it has had to gain respectability and acceptance in our modern Society. The New Age Religion has been Satan's special counterfeit religion since ancient times. Today it merely comes under a different title and has assumed new forms.

The New Age is also sometimes referred to as The New Dawn or The Age of Aquarius. Aquarius is one of the 12 astrological characters of the Zodiac. Since ancient times, men have practiced the forbidden art of trying to discover the destiny of mankind, by taking note of how the planets were aligned in the sky. The same thing is practiced today, only in a more refined manner, suited for the intellectual modern-day man. The art of Astrology has been simply developed into something more sophisticated.

However, even though New Agers believe in Astrology, God in the Bible strictly condemns the practice of it. "Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it. Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast labored, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee." Isaiah 47:13-5

Astrology is the art of divination. It teaches that the positions of the Sun, Moon and planets and their relation to one another influences the destiny of mankind. It is used to tell the future. In Hebrew, Astrology means 'divining the heavens'. In Leviticus 19:26 we are told, 'Do not practice divination or sorcery.' That's what Astrology really is, SORCERY! WITCHCRAFT!

So we must understand then that this New Age Movement or "Age of Aquarius" is actually based upon the practice of Witchcraft! God warned His people in a very serious way about these practices, saying, 'When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD.' Deuteronomy 18:9-12

*Notice the part in Deuteronomy about being a 'consulter with familiar spirits'. Later on we will discuss the connection that Astrology and the New Age Movement has with Spiritualism!

In the Zodiac symbol of Aquarius, there is depicted a man who pours out water from a jar. This signifies that according to New Age Thought, all of the Religious knowledge of Mankind throughout the Ages would be taken up into the jar and then blended together and poured back out upon the World. This event would happen when it was the "Dawning of the Age of Aquarius". This is to be an Era of Unity, Love and Religious Brotherhood among Humanity. The underlying idea of the New Age is one of ecumenism, a One World Global Society.

Some of you may remember a song that came out in the 1970s called "Age of Aquarius" by the Music Group, The Fifth Dimension. The lyrics of that song are evidence of the way in which the New Age Movement, closely associated with Astrology, has embedded itself in our Modern Culture:

"When the Moon is in the Seventh House, and Jupiter aligns with Mars. Then peace shall guide the planets, and love will steer the stars. This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius ....

Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more forces of derision
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelations
And the mind's true liberation"

An Age of Brotherhood, Harmony, and Peace, with no divisions, that is what the New Age is all about!

Now, the ancient astrologers performed the art of calculation by determining the relation of the planet's position with that of the sun; these calculations supposedly foretold mankind's destiny upon the earth. In reality, then, the New Age Movement is built upon the practice of Sun Worship.

If you will keep this basic thing in mind- that the New Age Movement is based upon Sun Worship- then you will begin to understand the strange philosophies and rituals that its followers believe and engage in. The New Age Religion involves the same practices that the Ancient Sun Worshippers were entangled in; only they have been re-adapted and modernized by putting them into less bizarre and foreboding forms.

Sun Worship is merely another name for Witchcraft, and therefore the "New Age" period was also to be a time when Witchcraft or The Occult was to be the dominant Religion of Society. Thus the Religion during this Universal Age of Brotherhood was to be Witchcraft!

We find in the book Witchcraft and the Mysteries, written by an active practitioner of witchcraft, a chapter about The New Dawn, -otherwise known as the "the New Age" period. This Witch-Author explains to us that during this New Dawn Era, mankind supposedly is to become awakened to the fact that witchcraft is not evil, but rather that it is beneficial to all of mankind.

Also during this New Dawn or New Age period, occult practices will be prevalent, and even acceptable in society. Witchcraft will be a thing to be respected and accepted. It is for this very reason, that we are now witnessing an Occult Explosion in our World today!

In the book, Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft, written by yet another practicing experienced witch named Raymond Buckland, we find a statement concerning the fact that in this New Age time period, Witchcraft will become prevalent. Here is exactly what Mr. Buckland had to say:

"Astrologically speaking, we are one third of the way through the twelfth house of the Piscean Age. At the end of this house we enter the Aquarian Age. This is, then, the eve of the Age of Aquarius, and it is one of general unrest, of dissatisfaction particularly with religion, and of searching for 'inner peace.' There has, over the past four or five years, been a tremendous rebirth of interest in the occult. A veritable renaissance of thinking. Young people have realized that they do not have to follow tradition; that they are able and should be able to think for themselves. People are looking critically at religion, refusing to accept a particular religion just because it was that of parents and their parents before them... There is this constant searching, by young and old alike. It is in this searching that so many discover the Wicca (Witchcraft). And the reaction is invariably one of joyous relief 'but this is what I've been looking for!'" Raymond Buckland, Buckland's complete Book of Witchcraft, pg. 206

It is claimed that 'People today are finally discovering that Witchcraft was the way to go, all along!' The only difference between the Old Age and the New Age is that in olden days there were obvious witches and wizards, but today you might see a witch posing as a Psychic Fortune Teller or a New Ager with crystals, or yet another practicing Yoga and Eastern Meditation. Most of them just don't usually claim to be witches, and some do not even realize they are into Spiritualism! We need to pray for these poor deceived souls and help them out of their darkness!
