Now we need to discuss the doctrines that these so-called 'benevolent Spirits' teach. These demons that pose as helpful Spirits give instruction to their eagerly awaiting audiences. Some of the main doctrines that they teach are:
1. There is no Sin
2. There is no Law
3. There is no distinction between good or evil
4. There is no Judgment
Now let's explore these teachings from the 'Spirit World' further
In the New Age book that was 'channeled', called A Course in Miracles, this is what the channeled Spirit teaches:
'The whole idea of the Course (in Miracles) is that sin is an illusion. The Course says that you forgive your brother for what he has not done to you, not for what he has done. What I do with my guilt is project it onto you. Then I attack you for it. When I forgive you and I correct my misperception of you, which means that I now see you as guiltless, I am really doing the same thing for myself. That forgives me of my guilt. So forgiveness is basically seeing our true selves as sinless and guiltless as well. The crux of the whole thing is that our relationship with God has never been impaired. It's only in our thinking that it was. For the Course, sin never really happened...' -A Matter of Course: Conversation with Kenneth Wapnick, (Dean Halverson, Spiritual Counterfeits Journal 7, no. 1, pg. 11-17
Then there's 'Ramtha', who is the Spirit Entity channeled by J.Z. Knight that we talked about earlier, who declares that we can be delivered from the idea of a judgmental God by understanding that 'There is no sin, therefore no reason for guilt.' -Minneapolis Star and Tribune, Nov. 27, 1986, pg. 6.
Popular New Ager, the late Joseph Campbell, said that he was particularly bothered by the Christian concept of sin, because he believed that it stifles human potential. The very act of confessing sins makes a person a sinner, he said, while a confession of greatness makes us great. 'The idea of sin puts you in a servile position throughout your life', said Campbell.
New Agers see sin as an alienation from one's own so-called Divine Human Potential. We are to see ourselves as 'Gods in the making', and not as some kind of lowly sinners in need of redemption. New Agers want us to see the world in a 'holistic' way, realizing that since 'All is One' -that therefore 'All is God', including you and me! Ignorance of this 'fact' is what they see as the real sin!
Nature Religion teaches that there is a 'Universal All' that decided to fragment itself into humans, rocks, trees, and what we think of as the Universe today, in order to 'express itself' and 'explore itself' and 'experience itself on different levels'. All life, then, is an exploration of the infinite possibilities of 'God', through us. And so when we see murder, rape, and other things that we usually think of as 'Sin', New Agers want us to realize that this is merely a variety of ways that the 'Universal All decided to express itself and explore new things'. Therefore, nothing is really 'bad' or 'evil'. Life is merely a learning experience.
'Your task is to live your own divine truth daily... Your task is to become the divine being that you are, fully experiencing life as a holy sanctioned being, born of the Divine and returning to the Divine. Your task is to create your life and fulfill it in such a way that you are happy and at peace with yourself.' -Spirit Speaks Magazine, channeled by a Spirit named 'Kunda', pg. 8, Sample Copy
All that matters in this life, according to New Age Spiritualists is that you 'fulfill yourself and do whatever makes you happy' because 'you are a God'. The reason that these channeled Spirits teach such things is because they are in reality, Demons!
'The teaching of the demon-gods in ancient times fostered the vilest license. The divine precepts condemning sin and enforcing righteousness were set aside; truth was lightly regarded and impurity was not only permitted, but also enjoined. Spiritualism declares that there is no death, no sin, no judgments, no retribution; that men are unfallen demigods; that desire is the highest law; and that man is accountable only to himself... does not such teaching suggest an origin similar to that of demon worship?' -Ellen White, Signs of the Times, June 30, 1890
1Timothy 4:1: 'Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils' Spiritualist teachers set aside the Law of God. They teach that the sinful, erring nature of man is the only standard of character, and that 'They affect great pity for minds so narrow, weak, and superstitious as to acknowledge the claims of God and obey the requirements of His law.' -Great Controversy pg. 560 And now, let's see what top New Age Personality, David Spangler has to say about the Law of God:
'The evolution of the race is for man to learn not how to obey the law but how to be the law. There is a vast, vast difference. If you are the law it means that you are at one with the whole. For divine law simply exists. When a person understands this, then he begins to have that attunement, when he is the law, he is not going to act in any way that will disturb or distort the true balance of the true wholeness... The New Age is an age where there is needed that group of people who through attunement can be self-governing, act as the law, as the divine, as the right, as the love.'-David Spangler, 'Relationship and Identity', pg. 89,91,93
As you can see, New Agers see 'keeping-the Law' as doing everything that they can to 'keep in tune with the Great Universal All', and not in keeping God's Ten Commandment Law. They also believe that they themselves are 'The Law'. David Spangler, New Ager, makes it even clearer in this next statement about how he really feels about God's Law:
'We can take all the Scriptures and all the teachings, and all the tablets and all the Laws, and all the marshmallows and have a jolly good bonfire and marshmallow roast, because that's all they are worth. Once you are the law, once you are the truth, you do not need it externally represented for you.' -David Spangler, 'Emergence: Rebirth of the Sacred', Findhorn Publications, pg. 144
The Spirit Guide Ramtha, channeled by J.Z. Knight, says:
'Every vile and wretched thing you do broadens your understanding If you want to do any wrong thing regardless of what it is, it would not be wise to go against that feeling; for there is an experience awaiting you and a grand adventure that will make your life sweeter.' -Quoted in Martin Gardner, 'Issness is her business', New York Review, April 9, 1987, pg. 18. And 'Seth' -the demon that spoke through the late Jane Roberts said:'There is no authority superior to the guidance of a person's inner self.' International Seth Seminar, Promotional Flyer, 1987.
The Ten Commandments were meant to serve as a 'mirror' that we could look into- to see where we fall short of God's perfect character, but New Ager's have substituted God's Law for 'Love'. This so-called 'Love' is based on whatever you may 'feel' is the right thing to do; there is no definite right or wrong.
'It is true that spiritualism is now changing its form and, veiling some of its more objectionable features, is assuming a Christian guise... but the bible is interpreted in a manner that is pleasing to the unrenewed heart, while its solemn and vital truths are made of no effect. Love is dwelt upon as the chief attribute of god, but it is degraded to a weak sentimentalism, making little distinction between good and evil. God's justice, his denunciations of sin, the requirements of his holy law, all are kept out of sight.' -Great Controversy, page 558, Ellen White
That sounds like a very accurate description about what the New Age is trying to promote!
The Apostle Paul gave a stern warning. He said: 'Even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one that we have preached to you, let him be eternally condemned.' -Galatians 1:8. These demonic spirits who are being 'channeled' through New Age Believers, can be seen for what they really are, if we remember Scriptural warning:
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? To the Law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.' Isaiah 8:19,20. If the Law of God is belittled then we can be sure that the message comes from one of Satan's Agents and not from the God of Heaven.
